This project, led by the NGO Bomberos Unidos Sin Fronteras (BUSF), aims to build homes adapted to the local reality in the Canton of Muisne, Esmeraldas. The initial plan involves the construction of 5 houses using guadua bamboo, a flexible model suitable for areas with a high probability of natural disasters, with the potential to scale the project to a total of 30 houses in the long term.
Additionally, the project includes a training component in collaboration with the National University of Chimborazo to educate young people and adults on the use of guadua bamboo as a construction material. Funding from the ITURRI Foundation supports this initiative, which not only seeks to improve the quality of life for vulnerable communities but also promotes the development of a new productive sector in the area through the cultivation and sale of bamboo, fostering sustainability and local empowerment.
