The ITURRI Foundation joins the fight against cardiac emergencies with its support for the “Argentina Cardio Protegida” project. In collaboration with Bomberos y Médicos en Acción, the foundation aims to improve the response capacity to cardiac arrests (CA) in the region. The program is designed to equip Volunteer Firefighters with defibrillators and specialized training in resuscitation techniques, such as chest compressions and rescue breaths, as well as the use of Semi-Automatic Defibrillators (AEDs).
This initiative is particularly relevant in light of concerning statistics: approximately 3 million people die each year from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, a figure that reflects a serious public health issue. Bystander Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) can be decisive, considering that 60-70% of cardiac arrests occur at home and 80% are related to coronary diseases. Early intervention with CPR and defibrillation within the first 3-5 minutes can increase the chances of survival by 50-70%.
With this effort, the ITURRI Foundation not only provides vital equipment but also fosters a safer and more prepared community to save lives.
