Representatives from the ITURRI Foundation had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Paz y Bien organization, which operates primarily in the province of Seville. These visits provided valuable insights into the organization’s work and impact.
During the initial visit, the team shared the afternoon with the girls, boys, and adolescents residing in the organization’s shelter homes. These safe havens provide essential support for vulnerable youth. Notably, the ITURRI Foundation co-financed one of these homes, ensuring a broader safeguarding of children’s rights.
The second visit took the team to the Alcalá de Guadaira facilities, which cover approximately 10 hectares. Here, a wide range of services are offered:
- Residence for children and adolescents in foster care, providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Residence and Day center for people with disabilities, offering specialized care and activities.
- Farm School and Harvesting of fruits and vegetables, a unique feature where individuals learn sustainable practices and actively participate in cultivation.
Remarkably, the same individuals who reside in specialized centers for people with disabilities actively participate in these tasks. By integrating these activities, the center achieves self-sufficiency and provides meaningful occupational opportunities for those with special needs.
The collaboration with Paz y Bien extends beyond visits. The ITURRI Foundation is excited to engage in future volunteering activities alongside the organization.
