In response to the devastating floods that struck Poland and the Czech Republic in September 2024, the ITURRI Foundation has delivered personal protective equipment and specialized materials. These floods, which resulted in the declaration of a natural disaster in Poland and severely affected several regions of the Czech Republic, caused the deaths of at least 24 people and forced mass evacuations.
The donation includes personal protective equipment and other materials to enhance the response capacity of local entities. Volunteer firefighters in Poland and Caritas in the Czech Republic have been the recipient organizations of these donations. In Poland, the firefighters have been working tirelessly to protect homes and businesses in areas such as Wrocław, while in the Czech Republic, Caritas has been providing crucial assistance to the affected communities.
This action has been made possible thanks to the ITURRI Foundation’s emergency fund, to which a portion of the annual budget is dedicated specifically for crisis situations like this. Collaboration with local organizations ensures that aid reaches those who need it most effectively.
